Likely interview questions for this role
Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.
About your past
This shift runs Sunday through Thursday, 7 PM to 3:30 AM or 9 PM to 5:30 AM. How have you handled overnight or late hours before, and how would you set up your sleep and life around it?
What they are checking: Whether they have a realistic plan for nights, since overnight turnover usually comes from people who never pictured the schedule.
The job requires being comfortable on warehouse equipment at heights up to 30 feet. Tell me about any time you've worked at height, and how you feel about it honestly.
What they are checking: Whether they can work at height calmly and safely, and whether they are honest about any fear before training starts.
Tell me about a job where you had to keep a steady pace for a full shift. How did you keep your energy and accuracy up near the end?
What they are checking: Whether their effort holds up across a long physical shift, which is when mistakes and injuries tend to happen.
Tell me about a time you made a mistake on the job, like a wrong count or a mis-loaded item. How did you handle it?
What they are checking: Whether they own errors right away, because a hidden mistake on a shipment costs far more than a reported one.
Uline talks about training and a long-term career. Where would you like to be a couple of years from now if this goes well?
What they are checking: Whether they see this as more than a short stop, which matters to an employer investing in hands-on training.
What would you do
You're loading an outbound trailer and notice a carton that's crushed and leaking. What do you do?
What they are checking: Whether they stop and flag damage instead of sending it out, since customers judge the company by what arrives.
It's 2 AM, the trailer has to be loaded before the shift ends, and a coworker is cutting a safety corner to go faster. What do you do?
What they are checking: Whether they will speak up about safety under time pressure instead of going along to keep the peace.
About the work
You'll be moving packages up to 50 to 70 pounds over and over through the night. How do you lift and carry heavy boxes without wearing out your back by the end of the week?
What they are checking: Whether they know safe lifting habits, which protects them from injury and the company from lost time.
When you unload a supplier shipment, what do you check to make sure what came off the truck matches what was supposed to come?
What they are checking: Whether they understand that receiving accuracy matters, because a miscount at the dock causes problems all the way down the line.
How do you load a trailer so the product arrives in the same shape it left?
What they are checking: Whether they think about weight, stacking and shifting in transit rather than just filling empty space.
