About your past

What they are checking: Whether they build strong internal partnerships that feed real market intelligence.

Tell me about a deal that traded poorly in the secondary market. What happened and what would you do differently?

What would you do

The book is three times covered but a lot of the orders look inflated. How do you decide allocations?

Markets get volatile the morning of a planned deal. How do you advise the issuer on whether to go?

What they are checking: Whether they give honest timing advice based on market depth rather than pushing to print.

How do you build relationships with corporate treasury teams when you're often not the lead bank?

What they are checking: Whether they can earn mindshare and grow the bank's role through useful insight.

About the work

An issuer asks where their new 10-year deal will price. Walk me through how you'd form that view.

What they are checking: Whether they combine secondary curves, new issue concession, comps, and investor demand into a defensible level.

How do you think about new issue concession, and when would you advise an issuer to accept a bigger one?

What they are checking: Whether they understand the tradeoff between saving a few basis points and getting a deal done cleanly.

Walk me through how you'd run a book for an investment-grade deal from launch to allocation.

What they are checking: Whether they know IPTs, guidance, tightening, and how book quality shapes final pricing.

What macro drivers are you watching right now that affect IG spreads?

What they are checking: Whether they follow rates, supply, fund flows, and credit conditions closely.

How would you explain hybrid capital or commercial paper options to a corporate treasurer considering them?

What they are checking: Whether they can speak to products beyond plain senior bonds, as the posting lists.
