About your past

Show me or tell me about a photo or video project you are proud of. What was your role from planning to final edit?

What they are checking: Real portfolio depth across photography, videography and editing, not just one piece of the process.

Tell me about a time you had several events or projects due the same week. How did you prioritize?

The role requires teardown after events too. How do you care for and track A.V. equipment so it works the next time?

What they are checking: Ownership of equipment upkeep, which prevents failures at the next big meeting.

What would you do

Ten minutes before a major cooperative meeting, the room audio is not reaching Teams. What do you do?

What they are checking: Calm, systematic troubleshooting under time pressure with leaders and members watching.

How would you photograph a utility work site or power plant safely and still get strong images?

What they are checking: Awareness that safety rules and PPE come first on industrial sites, ahead of the shot.

An executive sends you a crowded slide deck the night before a presentation. How do you improve the visuals without changing the message?

What they are checking: Presentation design judgment and tact when working with senior leaders on short deadlines.

How do you handle getting someone's consent before you photograph or film them for internal or external use?

What they are checking: Respect for people being recorded and awareness of permissions before content is published.

About the work

Walk me through how you set up, test and run A.V. for a hybrid meeting in Microsoft Teams where some people are in the room and others are remote.

What they are checking: Hands-on A.V. competence and whether they plan for the remote audience, which is often forgotten.

What camera, audio and editing tools are you comfortable with, and what would you need to learn?

What they are checking: Honest picture of their toolset so the employer knows how quickly they can contribute.

How do you keep visuals consistent with an organization's brand standards?

What they are checking: Discipline about brand guidelines, which matters for a cooperative communicating to members and the public.
