Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a training you delivered to adults that went well. What made it work?

What they are checking: Whether they understand adult learning and can describe why a session landed, not just that it did.

Describe a time you used feedback from trainees or managers to change a training. What did you change?

What they are checking: Whether they treat feedback as useful information and actually revise materials based on it.

How do you prepare for a training session the day before?

What they are checking: Whether they are organized about materials, equipment and room setup so sessions start on time.

What would you do

A new hire seems lost halfway through orientation and is not asking questions. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they notice quiet struggle and check understanding before someone goes to a home unprepared.

How would you learn HIL's service structure and client groups well enough to train on them credibly?

What they are checking: Whether they will do the groundwork to connect training to what caregivers actually face on shift.

A manager tells you that staff who passed your training are still making the same medication error. How would you respond?

What they are checking: Whether they look at whether training caused the gap and can work with managers on a fix.

Someone in your class challenges a policy you are teaching and gets other trainees nodding along. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they can stay respectful, explain the reason behind a rule, and keep control of the room.

About the work

You will train caregivers on regulatory topics that can feel dry. How do you keep a room engaged while staying accurate?

What they are checking: Whether they can make required content stick without cutting corners on the parts that keep clients safe.

How do you run a training over video conference differently from one in a classroom?

What they are checking: Whether they adjust pace, checks for understanding and interaction when people are on a screen.

How would you know whether a training actually improved how caregivers do their jobs?

What they are checking: Whether they think beyond attendance and quizzes to real changes in performance on the floor.
