Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a major incident you coordinated. What did you do in the first hour?

What they are checking: Whether they stay calm and organized, communicate clearly and drive restoration when services go down.

Tell me about a process improvement you made in an IT operations team. How did you measure it?

What they are checking: Whether they drive continual improvement with evidence, not just opinions.

Tell me about a time a change caused an outage. What did you change about the change process afterward?

What they are checking: Whether they learn from failures and strengthen controls without making change management too heavy.

What would you do

A strategic supplier keeps missing SLAs but says the issue is on Dyson's side. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they can manage vendors with data and clear contracts rather than finger-pointing.

How do you get Regional IT and Engineering teams to follow a common service process when they prefer their own way?

What they are checking: Whether they can win adoption through influence and clear value, since they will not manage these teams directly.

About the work

What they are checking: Whether they understand ITSM governance well enough to keep many teams aligned without slowing them down.

Where would you start adding automation and AI into an IT service management operating model?

What they are checking: Whether they can pick practical, high-value uses like ticket routing or prediction instead of chasing buzzwords.

How do you use observability and predictive analytics to prevent incidents rather than just respond to them?

What they are checking: Whether they think in terms of catching problems early, which the posting names as a direction for the role.

How do problem management and incident management differ, and how do you make sure problems get fixed for good?

What they are checking: Whether they understand root cause work and can stop the same incidents from repeating.

How would you report service performance to leadership so it connects to business objectives?

What they are checking: Whether they can turn IT metrics into what the business cares about, like store, sales or customer impact.
