Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

You would manage vendors developing training content and hold them to contract requirements. What do vendors most often get wrong?

What they are checking: Whether they know common vendor mistakes and hold vendors to contract terms, protecting quality and budget.

Tell me about training content you had to rewrite after the field told you it did not work.

What they are checking: Whether they listen to field feedback and fix their content, showing they care whether training actually works.

The posting says you develop and execute training programs with minimal guidance. How do you set your own priorities across a full curriculum?

What they are checking: Whether they can set priorities on their own, which the posting expects of someone working with minimal guidance.

This is a Senior Training Manager seat at Mettawa sitting below an Associate Director of Field Training for the same myeloma franchise, posted at the same time. Why this level rather than that one?

What they are checking: That they noticed the pair and can place themselves honestly.

What would you do

You would coordinate with Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Medical and Regulatory to make sure content is accurate and compliant. How do you get a piece of training content through all of them without it losing its point?

What they are checking: Whether they can guide content through five review groups and keep its teaching value, which this role does constantly.

Walk me through designing a training module for a field team that already thinks it knows the product.

What they are checking: Whether they can design training that challenges experienced representatives, who are the hardest audience to engage.

You would lead training meetings including planning, logistics, vendor monitoring and participant conduct. What goes wrong at a live training meeting, and how do you prepare for it?

What they are checking: Whether they plan for live meeting problems, like logistics and conduct issues, so the training runs smoothly.

A marketing team wants a message included that you think crosses a compliance line. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they will hold a compliance line with marketing, since crossing it creates legal risk for the company.

About the work

This role maintains subject matter expertise in the disease states and products it trains on. How deep does a trainer need to go into multiple myeloma to be credible with a field team?

What they are checking: Their own standard for disease knowledge, which decides whether representatives respect them.

How do you tell whether a training program actually changed how representatives sell?

What they are checking: Whether they measure real behavior change in the field, rather than counting attendance or satisfaction scores.
