Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a program you facilitated that wasn't landing. What did you change?

What they are checking: Whether they read the room and adapt rather than pushing through a session that isn't working.

Tell me about a time you had to influence a leader who didn't see the value of development work.

What they are checking: Whether they can win support from skeptical leaders with evidence and patience.

How do you keep an existing program fresh instead of running the same content every year?

What they are checking: Whether they continuously improve programs, which the posting asks for directly.

What would you do

A senior leader asks for training to fix what you suspect is really a process or management problem. How do you respond?

What they are checking: Whether they diagnose the real issue as a strategic partner instead of just taking training orders.

How would you keep an employee-owner culture strong as the company grows?

What they are checking: Whether they connect development work to the culture RLI describes and think about scale.

How would you support a high-performing individual contributor who has just become a manager and is struggling?

What they are checking: Whether they can coach individuals as well as design programs for groups.

About the work

Walk me through how you'd design a leadership development program from scratch for new people managers.

What they are checking: Whether they start from business needs and behavior change, not from a list of training topics.

How do you measure whether a training program actually changed how people work?

What they are checking: Whether they evaluate beyond attendance and satisfaction to real behavior and business results.

How do you tie learning and development work to the company's strategic business goals?

What they are checking: Whether they can act as the senior strategic partner the posting describes, not just a facilitator.

What's your approach to blending live sessions, e-learning and on-the-job learning?

What they are checking: Whether they choose formats based on the learner and goal, not on what's easiest to produce.
