Senior Sheet Metal Worker

Performs demolition and construction work on various types of ductwork, installs HVAC equipment, fabricates ductwork and ductwork hangers and a wide range of custom and specialty items not available from vendors. Working from drawings and sketches, performs layout work and duplicates samples as required.b Responsibilities • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. • Fabricates custom-made strainers using perforated steel, screening and expanded metal. • Works with plastic materials such as Plexiglass and Lexan and with all types of metals such as hot and cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum and magnesium as well as exotic metals such as tantalum, copper, monel and hastelloy. • Uses fabrication machines such as sheet metal shears, press brakes, hand brakes and lock formers. • Cuts sheet metal to size by using reciprocating saws, sabre saws, hand and power shears and plasma cutters and joins metals together using spot welders. • Complies with all applicable safety requirements for assigned task. • Must have a high school education/equivalent and completion of an approved apprentice program or equivalent. • 5-7 years of diverse commercial and industrial sheet metal experience. • Must be able to interpret all mechanical diagrams and construction blueprints. • Ability to understand and complete all installations/modifications is required.
