Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about an analysis you did that led to a real change in operations. What did you do after the analysis?

What they are checking: Whether they own follow-up and drive action, which the posting says matters more than the analysis.

Tell me about a time you explained a technical finding to a non-technical audience.

What they are checking: Whether they can translate analysis into plain language that leaders act on.

Tell me about a recommendation you made that was not adopted. What did you learn?

What they are checking: Whether they reflect on how to make their recommendations more credible and practical.

This is not a traditional reporting role. How do you work independently without waiting for requests?

What they are checking: Whether they find problems on their own and bring them forward.

What would you do

You find a trend that suggests a client's own staff is causing denials. How do you present it?

What they are checking: Whether they can share sensitive findings tactfully with evidence and a recommendation.

Customer Operations and Central Operations ask you for conflicting priorities. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they can clarify priorities with stakeholders instead of quietly picking one.

About the work

Walk me through how you would use Epic Clarity data to find the source of a rise in claim defects.

What they are checking: Whether they combine revenue cycle knowledge with SQL to trace a defect to its cause.

How do you validate data you have extracted and transformed before you share it with a client?

What they are checking: Whether they run rigorous QA, since credibility is lost with one wrong number.

How would you run an account performance review for a client?

What they are checking: Whether they can structure a review that surfaces actionable opportunities rather than just status.

How do you design a data model that supports reporting across many clients?

What they are checking: Whether they think about reusable structure and consistent definitions.

As a Senior Service Delivery Analyst, you'll play a key role across revenue cycle operations, analytics, and client delivery. You'll use deep revenue cycle knowledge, Epic Clarity expertise, and advanced SQL to turn complex operational data into accurate, client-ready insights — partnering with Customer Operations, Central Operations, and client stakeholders to surface trends, uncover defects, and drive action. This is not a traditional reporting role; you'll operate independently, make credible recommendations, and help shape how analytics support operational and client success. What you'll do • Build, optimize, and maintain reporting and analytics solutions supporting Customer Operations and Service Delivery priorities • Use advanced SQL and data modeling to extract, transform, and validate data from complex revenue cycle environments • Apply Epic Clarity and revenue cycle knowledge to identify trends, defects, and process improvement opportunities • Translate analysis into clear, client-ready reporting and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences • Conduct account and performance reviews that surface actionable opportunities • Perform rigorous QA on metrics and reports to ensure accuracy and credibility • Own follow-up actions and drive execution against recommendations — not just analysis • Serve as a trusted analytics partner to internal teams and client counterparts • Contribute thought leadership and mentorship to grow the broader analytics function What we're looking for • 8+ years of professional experience, with strong background in revenue cycle and analytics-driven roles • Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations (billing, claims, denials, A/R, payment posting) • Hands-on experience with the Epic Clarity data model, ideally in Resolute/Hospital Billing • Advanced SQL skills — complex joins, aggregations, transformations, and scalable query design • Experience with Snowflake, relational databases, and reporting tools such as Power BI • Proven ability to turn messy operational data into reliable, decision-ready insights • Track record presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders and/or clients • Strong attention to detail, independent judgment, and ability to manage multiple priorities Preferred qualifications • Epic Resolute Hospital Billing certification • Data modeling experience in Snowflake • Familiarity with stored procedures / T-SQL • Prior client-facing analytics or service delivery experience • Experience mentoring analysts or building team capabilities What success looks like • First 30 days: Ramp up on R1's data environment, reporting ecosystem, revenue cycle workflows, and existing reporting logic. Establish trust through accurate outputs and responsiveness. • By 90 days: Independently own meaningful deliverables, produce client-ready reporting with minimal oversight, identify trends that drive operational value, and serve as a trusted partner to internal and client stakeholders.
