Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

This is an individual contributor role that has to change how sales teams work. Tell me about a time you drove change without any direct authority.

What they are checking: Whether they can earn influence through credibility, data and relationships, which is the only lever this role has.

Tell me about a sales process you standardized across teams. What did you keep flexible?

What they are checking: Judgment about where standard practice helps and where forcing sameness across brands would hurt.

Tell me about an analysis you did that changed how a sales team spent its time.

What they are checking: Whether their analytics turn into changed behavior and results, not just dashboards.

What would you do

If you were building a Commercial Excellence roadmap for a business with several brands that each sell differently, where would you start?

What they are checking: Whether they diagnose the current state and pick a few high-value fixes, rather than rolling out a big framework at once.

Sales reps say the CRM is a waste of time. How do you get real adoption?

What they are checking: Whether they make the CRM useful to reps themselves, not just a reporting tool for management.

A regional sales leader keeps skipping the new opportunity review process. What do you do?

What they are checking: How they handle resistance from a senior peer, using partnership and leadership sponsorship rather than complaint.

About the work

How would you improve pipeline visibility and forecast accuracy for a sales team that mostly sells through glaziers and contractors?

What they are checking: Understanding of stages, definitions and inspection habits that make a forecast trustworthy in a project-based business.

What commercial metrics would you put in front of leadership each month, and why those?

What they are checking: Whether they choose a small set of leading and lagging indicators that drive decisions about profitable growth.

How do you tell the difference between growth and profitable growth when you look at a sales pipeline?

What they are checking: Commercial judgment about margin, mix and pricing discipline rather than chasing volume.

What does good sales enablement look like for a new rep learning a technical product like storefront and window systems?

What they are checking: Whether they see enablement as getting reps productive faster on product, process and tools, not just training slides.
