Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a JDE upgrade or migration you were part of. What went wrong and how did you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they have lived through real upgrade problems and learned from them.

Tell me about a time you explained a technical CNC issue to a business user who was frustrated.

What they are checking: Whether they communicate in a way that calms people and earns trust, which the posting calls out.

As a senior analyst, how do you make your work repeatable so the team doesn't depend only on you?

What they are checking: Whether they document and automate so the ERP infrastructure does not have a single point of failure.

What would you do

A developer asks you to push a fix straight to production because the plant is waiting. What do you say?

What they are checking: Whether they can protect the environment under pressure while still helping solve the urgent problem.

Two high-priority tickets come in at the same time, one an outage for one user and one a slowdown for a whole plant. How do you decide?

What they are checking: Whether they prioritize by business impact instead of by who called first.

About the work

Walk me through how you apply an ESU in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, from planning through promotion to production.

What they are checking: Whether they have done real CNC work and know the steps that keep environments stable.

What's the difference between an ESU, an ASU and a Tools Release, and how do you plan around each one?

What they are checking: Whether they understand JDE lifecycle management well enough to plan upgrades without surprises.

How do you set up and manage JDE security so people have the access they need and nothing more?

What they are checking: Whether they handle role-based access carefully, which matters a lot in a defense manufacturer.

Users say JDE is slow every morning around eight. How do you figure out what's going on?

What they are checking: Whether they troubleshoot performance methodically across the server, database and application layers.

How do you use ITIL practices to keep a change from causing an incident in a production ERP environment?

What they are checking: Whether they follow change management with real discipline, not as paperwork to get through.

How do you keep your development, test and production environments in sync so testing actually means something?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that drift between environments makes testing unreliable and causes production surprises.
