Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a broker or consultant relationship you built that turned into real growth.

What they are checking: Whether they have actually built the channel relationships that drive volume in this kind of business.

Tell me about a time you built a new line of business or a market from the ground up.

What they are checking: Whether they have led growth in an early, uncertain stage rather than only managing something mature.

What would you do

How would you decide which new markets to enter first for our ICHRA business?

What they are checking: Whether they weigh market, financial, operational and regulatory factors instead of chasing the biggest population.

Brokers are used to group commissions. How do you get them excited about selling ICHRA?

What they are checking: Whether they understand broker motivations and can design a pitch that fits how brokers earn a living.

You hit your relationship goals but enrollment stays flat in a new market. What do you look at?

What they are checking: Whether they can diagnose where the funnel is breaking instead of just pushing harder on activity.

How would you work with operations to make sure new employer groups are implemented smoothly?

What they are checking: Whether they see that a bad onboarding experience can undo the growth they worked to win.

About the work

Explain ICHRA to me as you would to a small business owner who has only offered a group plan.

What they are checking: Whether they can make a newer and unfamiliar benefit model simple and appealing for an employer buyer.

What are the biggest barriers to ICHRA adoption right now, and how would you work around them?

What they are checking: Whether they understand the real objections in the market and have practical ideas, not just enthusiasm.

How do you build a business case for a market expansion that leadership will fund?

What they are checking: Whether they can tie strategy to numbers, risk and timelines that finance leaders will trust.

What role do ICHRA administration platforms play, and how would you work with them?

What they are checking: Whether they know the partners that make ICHRA work for employers and see them as a growth channel.

How do you keep up with regulatory changes that affect ICHRA, and how have they shaped your strategy?

What they are checking: Whether they track federal rules closely since the model depends on how regulators treat it.
