Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a complex loan servicing issue you resolved. What made it hard?

What they are checking: Whether they have real senior-level experience untangling ABL or syndicated problems, not only routine processing.

Tell me about a time you caught an error before it reached a client or an agent bank.

What they are checking: Whether they have the review habits that prevent costly errors in a high-dollar, multi-lender environment.

How do you explain a servicing issue to a relationship manager who doesn't know the operations details?

What they are checking: Whether they can communicate clearly with front-office partners so problems get solved instead of bouncing around.

What would you do

The credit agreement and the way a fee was set up in the system don't match. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they treat the agreement as the source of truth and escalate before billing the client the wrong amount.

Month-end is coming and you have accruals to post, a payoff due and a client asking questions. How do you prioritize?

What they are checking: Whether they protect hard deadlines and accuracy under pressure while keeping the client informed.

About the work

Walk me through how you'd process a payoff on an asset-based revolving facility.

What they are checking: Whether they know the steps for interest, fees, accruals and lien release on an ABL loan from start to finish.

In a syndicated deal where Wells Fargo is agent, how do you handle distributing a borrower payment to the participants?

What they are checking: Whether they understand pro-rata allocation and agent duties, where a mistake affects every lender in the syndicate.

Your reconciliation shows a difference between the loan system and the general ledger. How do you track it down?

What they are checking: Whether they have a methodical way to trace debits and credits instead of plugging a number to make it balance.

How do you handle pass-through billing for field exams, appraisals and legal fees?

What they are checking: Whether they know how these expenses get charged to the borrower correctly and documented under the agreement.

How does a bought participation differ from an agented deal in what you have to service?

What they are checking: Whether they understand how Wells Fargo's role in a deal changes who does the work and who holds the record.
