Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about an upgrade you were responsible for. What went wrong and how did you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they plan upgrades with testing and rollback in mind and own the problems that come up.

Tell me about a time an issue in your application turned out to come from another team's system.

What they are checking: How they troubleshoot across boundaries and work with other teams without finger pointing.

How have you mentored or guided less experienced analysts?

What they are checking: Whether they raise the team's skill level, which is expected at a senior level.

The posting talks about software that exists to move a cancer detection mission forward. How does that change how you approach your work?

What they are checking: Whether they connect system reliability to patients getting results, which shapes how carefully they work.

What would you do

As a primary support contact for end users, how do you decide what to fix now and what goes into the backlog?

What they are checking: Their ability to triage by business and patient impact rather than by who shouts loudest.

A user wants a customization that would make the next upgrade much harder. How do you handle that conversation?

What they are checking: Whether they can push back on technical debt while still meeting the business need.

About the work

Walk me through how you do an impact analysis before making a configuration change to a system other teams depend on.

What they are checking: Whether they think about downstream effects across applications before building, not after something breaks.

How do you turn a vague request from a business user into requirements you can build and test?

What they are checking: Whether they ask the right questions to uncover the real need instead of building exactly what was asked.

How do you test a change in a regulated healthcare diagnostics setting, and what does your documentation look like?

What they are checking: Whether they understand validation and traceability expectations where software supports patient testing.

What platform performance problems have you identified, and how did you prove the fix worked?

What they are checking: Whether they measure before and after rather than relying on users saying it feels faster.
