Tell me about a time you built a pipeline from nothing in a new territory.

What they are checking: Whether they have proven prospecting habits for an outside sales role.

Describe a time you hit or beat a quota. What did you do differently than your peers?

How do you handle rainy, slow days when it is hard to get in front of people?

What they are checking: Whether they can build and use partner channels well.

What would you do

Seattle has a lot of coffee shops and quick-service spots. How would you approach an owner who already has a modern system?

What they are checking: Whether they can find a real gap instead of assuming every business needs to switch.

Walk me through a discovery conversation with a small retailer. What are you listening for?

What they are checking: Whether they use questions to find pain points before pitching.

An owner signs, then calls a week later saying their staff hates the new system. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they help with adoption and training instead of treating the sale as finished.

What do you do in the first 90 days to learn a territory you have never worked?

What they are checking: Whether they have a structured way to map a market and prioritize targets.

About the work

An owner asks what happens to their data and their customers' card information. How do you answer?

What they are checking: Whether they understand payment security basics and can address trust concerns honestly.

How would you explain the cost of processing to a merchant comparing three quotes?

What they are checking: Whether they can help an owner compare offers on total cost rather than headline rate.
