What they are checking: Whether they can deliver unwelcome news calmly and stay within what the physician has prescribed.

Tell me about a time you helped keep a busy clinic moving when patient flow was falling behind.

What they are checking: Whether they act like a team member who sees the whole clinic, not just their own task list.

This role is part time. How do you make sure nothing falls through the cracks between your shifts?

What they are checking: Whether they understand the sports medicine recovery path well enough to teach it clearly and safely.

What are the limits of your scope of license when you give phone advice, and how do you document it?

What they are checking: Whether they know where nursing judgment ends and a physician order begins, which protects both patient and nurse.

Walk me through how you'd help a patient get a managed care authorization for a brace or an MRI when the insurer pushes back.

What they are checking: Whether they can handle insurance paperwork without letting it delay care the physician has ordered.

How do you teach a young athlete and their parent about a home exercise plan so it actually gets done?

What they are checking: Whether they adjust patient education to the audience and check for real understanding, not just nodding.
