About the work
Walk me through your role during a STEMI case that comes in emergently to the cath lab. What do you do from the moment the patient hits the table to closure.
What they are checking: whether the candidate can perform under real time pressure and knows the sequence of scrub, circulate, and record roles in an emergent case
How do you read and interpret hemodynamic waveforms, and can you give an example where a change in the tracing changed what happened next in the case.
What they are checking: actual competence in hemodynamic interpretation rather than just familiarity with the term
What's your process for radiation safety on a long or complex case, both for the patient and for the team in the room.
What they are checking: depth of knowledge since the posting expects this person to serve as the radiation safety resource for others
How comfortable are you moving between Cath, EP, and IR roles, and is there one of those you feel less solid in right now.
What they are checking: honest self-assessment of breadth across the three service lines this role requires coverage for
Describe how you process and manage images in PACS during a case, and what you do if something looks off with image quality.
