Likely interview questions for this role
Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.
About your past
Tell me about a time you designed an experiment to find the source of variation in a product or process.
What they are checking: Whether they can pick factors deliberately and read the results honestly instead of changing one thing at a time and guessing.
Tell me about a CAPA you led where the first fix didn't work.
What they are checking: Whether they verify effectiveness and go back when the data says the root cause was wrong, rather than closing on schedule.
Tell me about a time you had to train operators on a new inspection method. How did you know it stuck?
What they are checking: Whether they check that the floor actually follows the method, since a procedure nobody follows protects no one.
What would you do
A supplier keeps shipping adhesive backing that fails peel strength. You've issued a SCAR and their response is thin. How do you handle it?
What they are checking: Whether they can push a supplier to a real root cause while keeping the relationship workable enough to get parts.
Complaint data shows a rise in dressings that don't stick on patients, but returned samples pass every test. How would you investigate?
What they are checking: Whether they think about real use conditions like skin, moisture and storage when lab tests and field results disagree.
Production wants to release a lot today and you have one open question about a test result. What do you do?
What they are checking: Whether they hold the line on product quality under schedule pressure while still moving fast to get an answer.
About the work
Walk me through how you would validate a new process on a wound dressing line, from IQ through PQ.
What they are checking: Whether they know validation is proof the process stays in control, not paperwork done after the line is already running.
You're looking at an SPC chart and the last seven points are all above the center line but inside the limits. What do you do?
What they are checking: Whether they recognize a run rule signal before a part ever goes out of spec, which is the whole point of SPC.
What goes into a DMR, and how do you keep it in sync with the design control file when something changes?
What they are checking: Whether they understand that a DMR out of step with design controls is an FDA finding waiting to happen.
How is a CE technical file for a wound care product different from what you'd keep for the FDA?
What they are checking: Whether they have real exposure to EU MDR expectations like clinical evaluation and post-market surveillance, not just US rules.
How would you set a sampling plan for incoming inspection on a new component, and what would make you tighten or loosen it?
What they are checking: Whether they tie sampling to risk and supplier history rather than picking an AQL by habit.
