Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.
About your past
You'd attend supplier technical reviews. How do you prepare for a meeting where you know the least in the room?
What they are checking: Whether they prepare seriously before technical meetings, because walking in ready earns trust even when you know the least.
How do you keep a project on track when you're waiting on other people to respond?
What they are checking: Whether they follow up steadily and politely when others are slow, because purchasing projects stall without someone chasing the open items.
Tell me about a time you organized something complicated.
What they are checking: Whether they have a real example of managing many moving parts, because purchasing coordination punishes missed details and loose tracking.
What do you want to be able to do by the end of this internship, and where would you most need help?
What they are checking: Whether they have specific learning goals and are willing to ask for help, which predicts how much they will get from the summer.
What would you do
A supplier's quote comes back much cheaper than the others. What would you check?
What they are checking: Whether they question an unusually low quote for missing scope, quality or capacity, because the cheapest number is often not the cheapest outcome.
The title says Summer 2027 but the internship dates in the posting read May 27 to August 7, 2026. Which term are you applying for, and what timing works for you?
What they are checking: Whether they notice the date mismatch and confirm which summer they mean, because clear timing avoids an offer for the wrong term.
About the work
This internship sends requests for quotation to suppliers and prepares quote comparisons. How would you compare two quotes that aren't quoting the same thing?
What they are checking: The main analytical task, and whether they see the trap
You'd set up new part numbers in the enterprise system and update supplier and material master data. Why does that data have to be right?
What they are checking: Whether they see that wrong part or supplier data causes wrong orders and line stoppages, so accuracy in master data really matters.
The posting names proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with enterprise systems, ideally SAP. What's the most complex thing you've built in Excel?
What they are checking: Whether they can show real Excel skill and some enterprise system exposure, because purchasing work runs on both every day.
The posting asks for current enrolment in supply chain, business or a related field with at least a 3.0 grade point average. Where are you?
What they are checking: Whether they are enrolled in a fitting program and meet the grade minimum, because both are firm eligibility requirements for the internship.
