Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a process improvement project you led that improved yield, throughput or cost. How did you prove the gain was real?

What they are checking: Whether they measure results against a baseline instead of claiming savings that cannot be verified.

Tell me about a time you worked with maintenance to solve a recurring equipment problem.

What they are checking: Whether they partner well across production, maintenance and engineering, which the posting stresses.

Tell me about a project that did not work. What did you do next?

What they are checking: Whether they learn and adjust honestly, which is normal in plant improvement work.

What would you do

A unit's output dropped ten percent overnight and nobody changed anything. How do you find the cause?

What they are checking: Whether they troubleshoot methodically with process data, operator input and field checks.

Operators are skeptical of a change you want to make. How do you win them over?

What they are checking: Whether they involve operators and respect their knowledge, since improvements fail without their support.

About the work

Which unit operations have you worked with, such as evaporation, drying, centrifugation or filtration?

What they are checking: Whether their experience matches the equipment found in a large corn wet-milling plant like Argo.

How do you use historian data and trends to monitor a process day to day?

What they are checking: Whether they watch key operating parameters proactively instead of waiting for alarms.

How do you make sure a process change is safe before you make it?

What they are checking: Whether they follow management of change and hazard review, which protects people in a 24/7 plant.

How do you standardize a best practice so it sticks across shifts?

What they are checking: Whether they use procedures, training and checks so improvements last after the project ends.

How do you think about food safety and quality when you change a process in a food ingredients plant?

What they are checking: Whether they consider product quality impacts alongside efficiency.
