Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you noticed the same complaint coming up again and again. What did you do with it?

What they are checking: Whether they turn repeat field issues into evidence that product development can act on, which is the core of this role.

Tell me about hands-on plumbing work you've done. What did you install, repair or troubleshoot yourself?

What they are checking: Whether their technical support will rest on real field experience, since callers can tell quickly when someone has never held a wrench.

Describe a time you worked with a team outside your own, like engineering or quality, to get a problem fixed.

What they are checking: Whether they can act as the bridge the posting describes, keeping service, customers and product people moving on one issue.

What would you do

A customer is angry because a product failed on a job site and the inspector is coming tomorrow. How do you handle that call?

What they are checking: Whether they can calm a stressed customer, find a practical fix fast, and still capture what actually failed.

How would you write up a field issue so product engineering takes it seriously instead of filing it away?

What they are checking: Whether they know engineers need failure details, counts, conditions and photos rather than a vague story about an unhappy caller.

You suspect a failure is caused by bad installation, but the customer insists it's a defect. How do you handle that?

What they are checking: Whether they can stay fair and evidence-based without accusing the customer or reflexively giving away warranty replacements.

About the work

A contractor calls saying a Bradley lavatory system isn't delivering water at the right temperature. Walk me through how you'd troubleshoot that over the phone.

What they are checking: Whether they can run a logical diagnosis remotely, asking the right questions before guessing at parts or blaming installation.

An engineer gives you a commercial washroom application and asks which product fits. What do you need to know before you recommend anything?

What they are checking: Whether they gather flow, code, mounting and usage details first instead of matching on a catalog name.

How would you explain the difference between a thermostatic mixing valve and a pressure-balancing valve to a sales rep who isn't technical?

What they are checking: Real plumbing knowledge plus the ability to translate it for the reps and customers they will support daily.

Which plumbing codes or standards have you had to work within, and how did they shape a product recommendation?

What they are checking: Whether they know commercial plumbing choices are bounded by code and accessibility rules, not just by what the customer prefers.
