About your past

Tell me about a hard-to-fill role you sourced. What worked, and what did you try that failed?

Tell me about a new sourcing tool you evaluated. How did you decide whether it was worth it?

What they are checking: Whether they evaluate tools with evidence, since researching new technology is part of the role.

What would you do

Write me a first outreach message, out loud, to a passive candidate who is happy in their current job.

What they are checking: Whether their outreach sounds personal and mission-focused instead of like a template physicians ignore.

A hiring leader keeps rejecting strong candidates without clear reasons. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Ability to push back with data and get clear criteria from senior physicians.

How do you balance outreach across many open roles with different urgency?

What they are checking: Prioritization when several hiring leaders all believe their role is the most important.

About the work

Walk me through how you would source a pediatric subspecialist, say a neuromuscular neurologist, when there may be only a few hundred in the country.

What they are checking: Whether they can find and map a tiny candidate pool rather than posting and waiting for applicants.

How do you use Doximity differently from LinkedIn when reaching physicians and APPs?

What they are checking: Practical knowledge of the platforms physicians actually use and how outreach should differ on each.

How would you keep a repository of sourcing tactics and outcomes that recruiters would actually use?

What they are checking: Whether they think in measurable outcomes and build tools the team can reuse.

What metrics would you track to show your sourcing is working?

What they are checking: Whether they measure response rates, pipeline conversion and time to fill rather than activity alone.

How would you use market data to suggest changes to a job posting that is getting no applicants?

What they are checking: Analytical skill in turning competitive intelligence into concrete posting changes.
