Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a patient who wasn't progressing the way you expected. What did you change?

What they are checking: Whether they reassess and adjust instead of repeating the same plan and blaming the patient.

How do you work with physicians and the rest of the care team to build a plan for a patient?

What they are checking: Whether they collaborate across disciplines in an integrated health system rather than working in isolation.

Tell me about a time you taught a patient or family a home exercise program. How did you make sure it stuck?

What they are checking: Whether they teach in a way people can actually follow at home, which decides long-term outcomes.

We offer mentorship, continuing education and a clinical ladder. What area of practice do you want to grow in over the next few years?

What they are checking: Whether they have a real plan for professional growth and will use the development the employer offers.

What would you do

We use a one-on-one treatment model. How does that change how you plan and run a session compared to settings where you juggle several patients at once?

What they are checking: Whether they would use focused time to build relationships and drive outcomes, which is the model the posting emphasizes.

A patient is in a lot of pain and tells you they don't want to do therapy today. How do you handle that?

What they are checking: Whether they can motivate through empathy and education while respecting the patient's right to decline.

A patient falls during your session even though you were guarding them. What do you do in the moment and afterward?

What they are checking: Whether they handle the patient's safety first, then report honestly and learn from the event.

About the work

Walk me through your initial evaluation of a patient after a total knee replacement.

What they are checking: Whether their evaluation is thorough and leads to clear, measurable goals and a sensible plan of care.

How do you decide when a patient is safe to go home versus needing more care, like rehab or a skilled facility?

What they are checking: Whether their discharge recommendations are grounded in functional data and real safety concerns at home.

How do you keep your documentation strong enough for insurance while still spending your time with patients?

What they are checking: Whether they can show medical necessity clearly and efficiently without letting paperwork take over care.
