What they are checking: Whether they can make evidence-based cases to prescribers while keeping a good working relationship.

You precept students and residents. How do you teach a learner to make independent decisions safely?

How would you measure whether your ambulatory clinic is actually improving patient outcomes?

About the work

What is your experience working under a collaborative practice agreement, and what kinds of changes have you made on your own?

What they are checking: Whether they understand the limits of their privileges and can safely adjust therapy independently.

Walk me through a comprehensive medication review for a patient taking twelve medications.

What they are checking: Whether they check each drug for indication, effectiveness, safety and adherence instead of just looking for interactions.

How do you prioritize several medical problems in one visit when you have limited time?

What they are checking: Whether they can sort problems by urgency and severity, which the role explicitly requires.

How do you review a patient's immunization status, and what do you do about gaps?

What they are checking: Whether they include preventive care in visits rather than focusing only on the problem at hand.

How do you document your visit so the rest of the care team understands what you changed and why?

What they are checking: Whether their notes clearly support continuity of care and the role's credibility with other providers.
