Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a discovery session you ran with process owners who didn't agree on how the process actually worked. How did you get to one version?

What they are checking: Whether they can surface the real current state when different people describe it differently.

Tell me about a time you found a process improvement that the business didn't ask for.

What they are checking: Whether they spot standardization and efficiency gains on their own while doing requirements work.

Describe a time a requirement you wrote turned out to be wrong after build. What happened next?

What they are checking: Whether they own mistakes and learn how to ask better questions up front.

What would you do

A stakeholder insists on a change you think will hurt another department. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they act as a trusted advisor who raises process impacts instead of just taking orders.

How do you prioritize when five enhancement requests come in at once and all are marked urgent?

What they are checking: Whether they can weigh business value and effort and push back on everything being top priority.

About the work

A business user asks for a custom report and a new form in Oracle EBS. How do you decide whether standard functionality already covers it?

What they are checking: Whether they protect the system from needless customizations that make upgrades harder and cost more.

Walk me through how you turn a vague request like 'make order entry faster' into functional requirements a developer can build from.

What they are checking: Whether they can break a fuzzy business complaint into specific, testable requirements.

Which Oracle EBS modules have you worked in most, and how do they connect to each other in a typical order-to-cash or procure-to-pay flow?

What they are checking: Whether they understand cross-module impacts, since a change in one area often breaks something downstream.

How do you document a future-state process so that both the business and IT understand it?

What they are checking: Whether their process maps and documents are usable by two very different audiences.

How do you make sure a change was actually tested the way the business uses it before it goes live?

What they are checking: Whether they connect requirements to real user testing so defects are caught before production.
