Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time a supervisor pushed you to clear an injured employee to go back to work sooner than you thought was safe.

What they are checking: Whether they hold to their licensure and clinical judgment when production pressure leans on them.

Describe a workers' comp case you managed from injury to full return to work.

What they are checking: Whether they can coordinate the employee, the doctor, the insurer and the supervisor so the case closes well and on time.

The role calls you a business partner who helps reduce health-related costs. Give me an example of how you've done that.

What they are checking: Whether they can connect nursing work to measurable results like fewer lost days or lower claim costs.

What health promotion effort have you led that people on a night or evening shift actually used?

What they are checking: Whether they design wellness work around shift workers' real schedules instead of daytime-only programs.

What would you do

You're the only nurse on site from 3pm to midnight. Walk me through the first ten minutes after someone on the line gets a hand caught in a machine.

What they are checking: Whether they can triage, stabilize and decide on outside transport calmly when no physician is on site to lean on.

An employee comes in on second shift with chest pressure and says it's probably just heartburn. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they treat a possible cardiac event seriously and act fast instead of accepting the employee's own reassurance.

A worker asks for a modified duty assignment, but the restriction note from their doctor is vague. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they can get clarity from the provider and match restrictions to real tasks rather than guessing.

You notice three similar wrist complaints from the same packaging line in a month. What do you do with that?

What they are checking: Whether they spot injury patterns and push for an ergonomic fix instead of treating each case alone.

About the work

Where is the line between first aid and medical treatment for OSHA recordkeeping, and why does it matter to the plant?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that one treatment choice can turn an injury into a recordable case and change the site's safety numbers.

How have you run a health surveillance program, such as hearing conservation or respirator clearance, and kept everyone current?

What they are checking: Whether they can track recurring regulatory testing across a workforce so nobody quietly falls out of compliance.

How do you decide what a supervisor needs to know about an employee's medical situation and what stays with you?

What they are checking: Whether they protect medical confidentiality while still giving managers the work restrictions they need to plan the shift.
