About your past

Tell me about a time you disagreed with a coworker about how something should be done in the clinic. How did it end?

What they are checking: Whether they can work through friction on a small care team without letting it affect patients.

What does professionalism and compassion look like to you on a day when you are tired and the schedule is packed?

What would you do

A patient asks you whether they should keep taking a medication that is making them dizzy. How do you respond?

What they are checking: Whether they stay within their scope as an MA and route clinical questions to the provider without brushing the patient off.

You notice a patient seems withdrawn and mentions they don't see the point of getting better. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they take possible depression or safety concerns seriously and pass them to the provider right away.

How would you handle a patient who arrives 20 minutes late and insists on being seen?

What they are checking: Whether they can follow clinic policy while staying respectful and checking with the provider about options.

About the work

This role is based in the Physiatry Professional Building at St. Luke's. What do you know about what a physiatrist does day to day?

What they are checking: Whether they did basic homework on the specialty and can explain how physiatry differs from orthopedics or physical therapy.

Tell me what vitals and intake information you collect on every patient, and which ones you would flag right away to the provider.

What they are checking: Whether they know normal ranges and can recognize an abnormal reading that should not wait until the end of the visit.

How would you help a patient who uses a wheelchair or walker get safely onto a scale or exam table?

What they are checking: Whether they put patient safety and dignity first during transfers and know when to ask for more help.

How do you keep your documentation in the electronic record accurate when you are moving fast between rooms?

What they are checking: Whether they chart in real time with care, since a wrong entry in a pain or medication history can hurt patients.
