A new product introduction is about to ramp at one of the plants and it's going to compete for the same materials and capacity as an existing high-volume line. How do you plan for that?
What they are checking: ability to balance NPI support against protecting core production commitments
If inventory targets and customer service goals are pulling in opposite directions for a given product line, how do you decide where to land?

About the work
Walk me through how you build a supply plan from a demand forecast when you're coordinating across multiple manufacturing facilities like Berlin, Beaver Dam, Allmand, and Enercon.
What they are checking: whether the candidate actually understands the mechanics of translating demand into an executable, site-specific supply plan
How do you use SAP to manage planning parameters, and can you give an example where bad planning data caused a problem you had to fix?
What they are checking: depth of hands-on SAP/MRP experience versus surface familiarity
What KPIs do you use to know your supply plan is actually working, and how do you build a dashboard or Power BI report that people at different levels will actually use?
What they are checking: whether their reporting instincts are built for decision-making, not just data display
How do you set and maintain planning parameters like safety stock, lead times, and lot sizes in MRP, and how often do you revisit them?
What they are checking: understanding that MRP quality depends on ongoing parameter discipline, not a one-time setup
What's your process for documenting planning assumptions and supply risks so someone else could pick up your work if you were out for two weeks?
What they are checking: whether they build durable, transparent processes versus tribal knowledge
