Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

The posting talks about growing engineering skills in reporting developers. How would you do that?

What they are checking: Whether they have a real plan to move BI developers toward data engineering practices like version control and testing.

Tell me about a time you turned a vague business request into a data product people used.

What they are checking: Whether they can translate business needs into solutions that get adopted.

How do you lead a team that mixes BI developers, analysts and data engineers?

What they are checking: Whether they can manage different skill sets and career paths within one team.

What would you do

You get far more report requests than your team can build. How do you manage demand?

What they are checking: Whether they have a fair, visible intake and prioritization process instead of first come, first served.

Two dashboards show different numbers for the same metric, and leaders have noticed. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they fix the root cause through shared definitions and governance, not just one report.

About the work

Your team works across Tableau, Epic Clarity and Databricks. How do you decide where a new report or data product should live?
