Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a strategic project you shaped from an idea into something leadership adopted.

What they are checking: Whether they can carry an initiative from a rough idea through to adoption, because strategy roles are judged on what leadership actually implements.

Tell me about a time you gave a leader advice they didn't want to hear.

What they are checking: Whether they can deliver unwelcome advice with tact and still be invited back, which is what makes a compliance advisor genuinely useful.

What would you do

How would you choose which few strategic projects OEC should take on this year?

What they are checking: Whether they rank projects by risk and expected impact on program effectiveness, because a compliance team cannot do everything at once.

A risk signal shows up in data analysis, but the business says it's nothing. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they follow a risk with evidence while keeping the business's trust, because compliance that alienates partners stops hearing about problems early.

How do you run a cross-functional project when nobody on it reports to you?

What they are checking: Whether they can run a cross-functional project through influence and clear plans, because compliance work almost always depends on people outside the team.

How do you turn a broad OEC strategy into actions a team can work on Monday?

What they are checking: Whether they can turn broad strategy into concrete, assignable work, because a strategy nobody can act on by Monday changes nothing in practice.

About the work

What are the main elements of an effective compliance program, and which ones are hardest to prove are working?

What they are checking: Whether they understand how to prove a compliance program actually works, since regulators ask for evidence of outcomes, not a list of policies.

How do you keep a current view of OEC priorities and risk signals across a large organization?

What they are checking: Whether they have a reliable way of gathering and synthesizing signals across a large company, so priorities rest on facts rather than anecdotes.

How do industry enforcement trends shape your thinking on a pharma compliance program?

What they are checking: Whether they watch enforcement actions and settlements and translate them into program changes, since that is where regulators signal their priorities.

How would you measure whether a new compliance initiative actually changed behavior?

What they are checking: Whether they measure real behavior change rather than counting trainings and emails, since effectiveness is what regulators and leaders actually want shown.
