Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you translated a vague business need into clear technical requirements.

What they are checking: Whether they can get to the real problem behind a request and write requirements a delivery team can build.

Describe a digital rollout that didn't land well with users. What did you learn?

What they are checking: Whether they understand adoption and change management are as important as the software itself.

How do you keep IT delivery teams and business stakeholders aligned when priorities shift?

What they are checking: Whether they can act as a real bridge and keep both sides informed and trusting.

What would you do

You'd be the main IT contact for Construction leadership. How would you spend your first ninety days?

What they are checking: Whether they would learn how construction works and build trust before proposing technology changes.

Field operations wants one tool, engineering wants another, and procurement wants a third. How do you settle it?

What they are checking: Whether they can balance competing needs and guide stakeholders toward a decision that serves the whole business.

How do you make sure a system works for crews at remote sites with poor connectivity?

What they are checking: Whether they design for real field conditions instead of assuming office conditions.

A construction executive asks for a quick fix that would create a long-term data mess. What do you say?

What they are checking: Whether they can push back with tact and offer options that meet the need without creating debt.

About the work

What digital tools matter most to a construction team building utility-scale energy projects?

What they are checking: Whether they understand project controls, document management, field reporting and safety systems in construction.

How do you build a technology roadmap for a business unit, and how do you keep it current?

What they are checking: Whether they can plan strategically and tie technology investments to business priorities over time.

How do you measure whether a technology investment actually helped construction projects run better?

What they are checking: Whether they think in outcomes like schedule, safety and cost rather than just delivering projects on time.
