Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you found an error in someone else's work. How did you bring it up?

What they are checking: Whether they can raise problems tactfully, since quality work means telling people about issues often.

Tell me about a project where you had to be very precise and detail-oriented.

What they are checking: Whether they have the patience and care quality documentation and analysis demand day after day.

What do you hope to understand about quality by the end of the summer?

What they are checking: Whether they have a learning goal and will take initiative to reach it during the internship.

What would you do

You're asked to compare quality data from several sites and one looks much better than the rest. What would you check?

What they are checking: Whether they question whether the data is measured the same way before assuming one site is simply better.

Someone asks you to sign off on something you haven't fully checked because they're in a hurry. What do you say?

What they are checking: Whether they hold their integrity under pressure, which is the single most important trait in quality.

About the work

What do you think the difference is between quality at one plant and corporate quality across many sites?

What they are checking: Whether they see corporate quality as setting systems and standards that keep every site consistent.

Have you heard of ISO 9001 or ISO 13485? What do you think a quality management system is for?

What they are checking: Whether they understand quality systems exist to make good results repeatable, not just to pass audits.

What does root cause and corrective action mean to you, and why do companies take it so seriously?

What they are checking: Whether they understand fixing the cause, not the symptom, is what prevents repeat defects reaching customers.

Plexus builds surgical systems and aerospace equipment. How does that change how careful a quality team needs to be?

What they are checking: Whether they link quality to real consequences for patients and safety, not just company reputation.

How comfortable are you analyzing data in Excel or another tool? What's an example?

What they are checking: Whether they can handle quality metrics and trend reports, a large part of corporate quality work.
