What draws you to home care instead of staying in a hospital?

What they are checking: Whether they recognize decompensation early and act on it, which is how home care prevents readmissions.
A patient refuses part of the plan of care, like wound care or a medication. How do you handle it?

You feel unsafe when you pull up to a patient's home. What do you do?
What they are checking: Whether they put their own safety first and follow agency steps instead of going in anyway.
About the work
Walk me through your first visit to a new home care patient, from knocking on the door to leaving.
What they are checking: Whether they run a full start-of-care visit with assessment, home safety and teaching, not just a quick check.
How do you teach a patient and their family to manage a new medication at home?
What they are checking: Whether they teach in plain language and use teach-back so families can actually follow the plan after the nurse leaves.
How do you keep up with documentation when you see several patients a day and drive between them?
What they are checking: Whether they chart promptly and accurately on mobile technology, since home care billing and care depend on visit notes.
