Likely interview questions for this role
Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.
About your past
Tell me about a quality transformation you led across many plants. What actually changed on the floor, and how do you know it stuck?
What they are checking: Whether their past programs produced lasting behavior change at sites, not just new documents and slide decks.
Walk me through how you would report progress to an executive sponsor when two pillars are behind and one is ahead.
What they are checking: Whether they report honestly and early on slipping work instead of hiding it behind overall averages.
Tell me about a time you had to stop or reject an intervention that a business unit really wanted.
What they are checking: Whether they will use their approval authority to say no when a fix is not sustainable, even under pressure.
What would you do
The FSQ North America plan has six pillars and two enablers over three years. How would you sequence that work so the pillars that depend on each other don't stall?
What they are checking: Whether they can see dependencies in a big program and order the work instead of launching everything at once.
A plant keeps showing up with the same sanitation findings. How would you design a targeted program to fix it?
What they are checking: Whether they go after root causes and sustained habits rather than one more round of retraining and audits.
You're partnering with Global Quality Council members whose policy direction doesn't fit how North America plants run. How do you handle that?
What they are checking: Whether they can align global and regional priorities through influence while still protecting what plants can realistically do.
Plant leaders tell you the transformation is just more paperwork. What do you say and do?
What they are checking: Whether they can earn buy-in from operations by showing value and removing waste, not by mandating compliance.
About the work
What KPIs would you set to show manufacturing quality is getting stronger, and which ones would you refuse to use?
What they are checking: Whether they know the difference between leading and lagging quality measures and avoid metrics that plants can game.
How do you decide where capital should go between facility improvements and product protection devices like metal detectors or X-ray?
What they are checking: Whether they rank food safety capital by real risk to consumers rather than by which site asks the loudest.
What does a risk-based expectation for compliance look like to you, compared with a one-size-fits-all standard?
What they are checking: Whether they can tailor requirements to product and process risk so resources go where hazards actually are.
How would you build quality programs for the labs so results across sites can be trusted and compared?
What they are checking: Whether they understand lab method consistency, proficiency and data integrity as the base of every quality decision.
