Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a digital product you took from zero to one. What did launch look like, and how did you know it was working?

What they are checking: Whether they have actually built and launched new products and measured adoption and value.

Tell me about a time you killed a product or feature. How did you make the call?

What they are checking: Whether they let evidence end bad bets and can explain the decision to stakeholders.

How do you build and lead a team that is comfortable working in ambiguity?

What they are checking: Whether they can lead product people through uncertainty with clear goals and steady judgment.

What would you do

Legal and compliance raise concerns that would delay an AI feature by six months. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they can work with risk partners to find a responsible path rather than treating them as blockers.

How would you explain your product roadmap to the executive team in ten minutes?

What they are checking: Whether they can communicate strategy crisply to senior leaders who want outcomes, not features.

As general manager, how do you make a call when marketing, technology and risk each want something different?

What they are checking: Whether they can make integrated decisions across functions and own the outcome.

About the work

How would you decide which AI product ideas to fund first across customers, colleagues and the bank?

What they are checking: Whether they can prioritize with a clear view of value, feasibility and risk rather than chasing the newest idea.

Walk me through how you'd turn a vague goal like 'use AI to help small businesses' into an MVP and a test plan.

What they are checking: Whether they can translate ambiguity into concrete customer journeys, requirements and experiments.

How do you build reusable platform capabilities without slowing down the teams that need product features now?

What they are checking: Whether they understand the trade-off between platform investment and near-term product delivery.

What risks are specific to putting generative AI in front of bank customers, and how would you manage them?

What they are checking: Whether they understand model risk, accuracy, fairness and privacy in a regulated setting.

What metrics would you use to show an AI product for colleagues is creating value?

What they are checking: Whether they tie internal tools to measurable outcomes like time saved or quality, not just usage.
