Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Walk me through a digital health product you owned from strategy to launch. What did you decide, and what did you leave out on purpose?

What they are checking: Whether they have truly owned a product end to end and can explain tradeoffs, not just list features shipped.

Tell me about a time you killed a product or feature your team loved. How did you make the call and how did you tell them?

What they are checking: Whether they can make hard portfolio calls on evidence and still keep a team motivated afterward.

How have you built and grown a team of product managers? What did you look for when you hired?

What they are checking: Whether they can develop product leaders and know what separates a strong product manager from a project tracker.

How do you work with quality, regulatory and cybersecurity teams so they help shape the product instead of blocking it late?

What they are checking: Whether they bring compliance partners in early, since late surprises in healthcare software can stop a launch.

What would you do

You're defining an enterprise-wide digital health strategy for diagnostics. Where do you start when every business unit already has its own roadmap?

What they are checking: Whether they can build one strategy across units that each believe their own plan matters most.

A senior commercial leader wants a feature promised to a big customer next quarter, and it would push your platform work back six months. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they can hold a long-term platform plan against short-term sales pressure without damaging the relationship.

You get conflicting feedback from lab directors in the US and in Europe about the same product. How do you sort out what to build?

What they are checking: Whether they can separate real market differences from personal preference when serving customers in many countries.

About the work

How does software that touches diagnostic results change the way you run product development compared with a consumer app?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that regulated software, such as software as a medical device, changes timelines, evidence and release discipline.

How would you decide whether a digital tool should connect to a lab's middleware, a hospital's EHR, or stand alone?

What they are checking: Whether they think about where data actually flows in labs and hospitals before deciding what to build.

What metrics would tell you a digital health product for lab customers is actually working, beyond downloads or logins?

What they are checking: Whether they measure customer outcomes like turnaround time or workflow savings rather than vanity numbers.

How do you decide whether to build a capability in-house, partner, or buy a company that already has it?

What they are checking: Whether they can weigh speed, cost, control and integration risk at the scale of a global healthcare company.
