Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

This is a founding role on new trauma and primary behavioral health programs. What appeals to you about starting something new, and what worries you?

What they are checking: Whether they are realistic about the uncertainty of a new program and ready to help shape it.

A new program will not have every routine figured out yet. Tell me about a time you worked somewhere without clear processes.

What they are checking: Whether they can stay effective and help build structure when things are still being set up.

How would you help build a positive team culture as one of the first people on the team?

What they are checking: Whether they see themselves as part of the culture and will model good habits.

The posting mentions paths into roles like behavioral specialist. Where do you see yourself growing, and how would you use this job to get there?

What they are checking: Whether they have real goals and see this role as a step they will invest in.

Tell me about a time you helped someone through a really hard moment.

What they are checking: Whether they can offer calm, practical support to someone in distress.

You get structured training, but some things will be learned on the job. How do you learn best?

What they are checking: Whether they know how they learn and will ask questions instead of guessing.

What would you do

A patient on the trauma unit suddenly becomes upset during a quiet moment. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they respond calmly and with trauma awareness, without taking the reaction personally.

You notice a process that keeps causing problems, like how patients are handed off between shifts. What would you do?

What they are checking: Whether they speak up with ideas, which founding team members are expected to do.

What does keeping professional boundaries look like with patients close to your own age?

What they are checking: Whether they can be warm without becoming friends with patients.

About the work

How do you keep patients safe on an overnight shift when most are asleep?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that rounds and observation matter most when things seem quiet.
