Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

You will own capital outcomes delivered through project execution. Tell me about a project that went over budget and what you did.

What they are checking: Ownership of results and the ability to recover a project rather than just report the overrun.

Tell me about a time you presented a capital recommendation to senior finance or executive leaders.

What they are checking: Ability to make a clear, concise case to people who control the money.

This is a remote role overseeing physical sites. How do you stay close enough to projects to know what is really happening?

What they are checking: Building reliable reporting and relationships so problems surface early despite distance.

What would you do

A site leader insists their project is critical, but the data does not support it. How do you handle that?

What they are checking: Holding to evidence with senior stakeholders while staying respectful and open to new facts.

Midyear, a sudden program win needs space and capital that was not planned. What do you do?

What they are checking: Adjusting the plan quickly while protecting other commitments and being clear about tradeoffs.

About the work

Walk me through how you would run an annual capital planning process for a portfolio like Raytheon's facilities.

What they are checking: Command of the full capital cycle, from requests and prioritization to approval and tracking.

How do you prioritize capital projects when requests far exceed the budget?

What they are checking: A clear, defensible method that leaders can trust, rather than whoever asks loudest.

What would a good global capital allocation framework include, and what would you avoid?

What they are checking: Strategic thinking about governance that works across regions and businesses.

How do you identify and manage risk across a portfolio of real estate and facilities projects?

What they are checking: Seeing risk at the portfolio level, not just inside individual projects.

How do you decide between leasing, buying or renovating for a facility need?

What they are checking: Real estate and financial judgment that goes beyond simple cost comparison.
