What they are checking: Cross-team leadership, since APT integrates hardware, software and digital services.

How do you mentor junior controls engineers on system thinking?

What they are checking: Whether they grow others as a senior engineer and pass on system-level judgment.

What would you do

A product group needs a quick fix for a customer while you're building a long-term controls platform. How do you handle both?

What they are checking: Balancing near-term execution with long-term technology leadership, which the posting names directly.

About the work

Walk me through the control architecture of an electrified power system you worked on, such as energy storage, a hybrid genset or a microgrid.

What they are checking: Real depth with system-level electrification controls across the power and energy applications APT covers.

How do you coordinate controls between a battery management system, an inverter and a supervisory controller?

What they are checking: Understanding of how multiple controllers share responsibility and how conflicts are resolved.

How do you write system requirements for an electrification feature and trace them through verification?

What they are checking: Systems engineering discipline that keeps complex electrified features testable and aligned with customer needs.

What protections and safe states do you design into a high-voltage system's controls?

What they are checking: Safety thinking for high-voltage and high-energy systems, where faults can be dangerous.

How would you use simulation and HIL to test grid-forming or load-sharing behavior before field testing?

What they are checking: Validation strategy for behaviors that are risky or expensive to test on real power equipment.

How do you design controls that help improve uptime for customers running critical power?
