What they are checking: Adapting development to customer procedures, while raising risks clearly instead of quietly accepting or ignoring them.

Your design passes bench tests, but production sees a higher failure rate than expected. Where do you start?

What they are checking: Thinking across design margins, component tolerances and manufacturing process rather than assuming one cause.

About the work

Walk me through an automotive electronic module you designed, from requirements to production.

What they are checking: Whether they have followed the full development process the posting describes rather than one narrow slice of it.

How do you design a circuit to survive the automotive electrical environment, like load dump, reverse battery and cold crank?

What they are checking: Real understanding of automotive specifications, which the posting says requires in-depth knowledge.

How do you design with EMC in mind before the first prototype goes to the lab?

What they are checking: Whether they prevent test failures through layout and filtering choices instead of fixing them late and expensively.

Which automotive test procedures, like environmental, durability or electrical validation, have you planned or supported?

What they are checking: Knowledge of test procedures for automotive parts, a stated requirement for this position.

How do you choose components for a design that must be in production for many years?
