Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a scorecard you built that people actually used to make decisions.

What they are checking: Whether their reporting changes behavior, not just fills a weekly email nobody reads.

Tell me about a time you pulled together data from systems that didn't agree with each other.

What they are checking: Whether they reconcile messy sources carefully and flag gaps instead of hiding them.

Tell me about a time you were handed something ambiguous with no clear owner. What did you do?

What they are checking: Whether they are the self-starter the posting asks for, comfortable creating structure on their own.

What would you do

You found a strong insight, but the brand team doesn't want to hear it. How do you share it?

What they are checking: Whether they can deliver an unwelcome so-what with tact and evidence.

A campaign is set to launch at ADUSA tomorrow and you spot an error in the setup. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they act fast and loop in the right people when execution accuracy is on the line.

About the work

eCommerce sales at Target dropped last month. Walk me through how you would find the drivers and drags.

What they are checking: Whether they break a result into price, traffic, conversion, availability and content instead of guessing.

What does Perfect Screen execution mean to you, and how would you track it?

What they are checking: Whether they understand digital shelf basics like content, images, ratings and availability on retailer sites.

How would you measure whether a shopper marketing campaign was worth what we spent?

What they are checking: Whether they can separate incremental lift from sales that would have happened anyway.

How do you decide what goes on page one of a business review and what goes in the appendix?

What they are checking: Whether they can build a clear story that leads with the answer rather than every chart they made.

Which tools do you use to analyze and present data, and where do you hit their limits?

What they are checking: Whether their hands-on skills match the work and they know when to switch tools.
