Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a culture tool or process you built that leaders actually kept using a year later.

What they are checking: Whether their work sticks in the daily habits of managers rather than fading after a launch event.

Describe a time a business leader pushed back hard on a culture initiative. How did you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they can win over resistant operators through listening and evidence instead of mandate or moral pressure.

Tell me about a time you used data to change how leaders thought about their team's experience.

What they are checking: Whether they can turn employee data into a clear story that moves leaders to act.

What would you do

We have more than 40 businesses with very different local cultures. How do you design enterprise culture strategy that still fits a small plant and a corporate office?

What they are checking: Whether they can balance a common framework with local flexibility in a decentralized, acquisitive company.

You will partner with the VP of DEI and Culture. How do you work best with a leader above you who owns the overall direction?

What they are checking: Whether they can execute and add ideas inside someone else's strategy without competing for ownership.

A recently acquired business has engagement scores far below the rest of the enterprise. Where do you start?

What they are checking: Whether they diagnose root causes with the people involved before prescribing a corporate fix.

What does a strong employee experience look like on a manufacturing floor compared with an office?

What they are checking: Whether they understand frontline realities like shifts and safety, not just corporate office life.

About the work

IDEX says culture drives strategy, innovation and operational excellence. How would you link our operational outcomes to the behavioral anchors you design?

What they are checking: Whether they can tie culture work to measurable business results instead of treating it as a separate program.

How do you measure belonging and cultural competence in a way that holds up when the CFO asks what changed?

What they are checking: Whether they can pick credible metrics and survey methods that survive skeptical, numbers-focused leaders.

How would you design processes so that involvement in projects and promotions is more equitable across teams?

What they are checking: Whether they can make fairness concrete through process design, not just training or messaging.

How do you keep culture and inclusion work legally sound and aligned with current employment law?

What they are checking: Whether they understand the compliance boundaries around this work and partner well with Legal.
