Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a go or no-go decision your insights influenced.

What they are checking: Whether their work has actually changed a major investment decision, which shows insights that matter rather than reports that sit unread.

Tell me about a time your insights were unwelcome to an asset team.

What they are checking: Whether they will deliver unwelcome findings honestly and clearly, because insights that only confirm what teams want to hear are worthless.

What would you do

Priorities shift and you must become an expert in in vivo CAR T within a month. How do you get there?

What they are checking: Whether they have a fast, structured way to learn a new field, since priorities in oncology insights can shift with little notice.

How do you build a CI plan that research teams use, not just read?

What they are checking: Whether they design insights around research teams' real decisions, so their work gets used in planning rather than skimmed and forgotten.

About the work

How would you build a competitive landscape for an ADC in small cell lung cancer?

What they are checking: Whether they can map a specific oncology competitive landscape in real depth, including pipelines, data and mechanisms, rather than staying at a surface level.

How does competitive intelligence inform a target product profile?

What they are checking: Whether they connect competitive findings directly to product strategy, since insights only matter when they shape what a team decides to develop.

How do you track competitor safety and efficacy data from conferences like ASCO or ESMO?

What they are checking: Whether they read clinical data critically and track it systematically, because competitor results at major conferences can quickly shift an asset's outlook.

How would you assess the evolving standard of care in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma?

What they are checking: Whether they understand the clinical science well enough to judge how treatment is changing, which is essential for credible oncology insights.

How do you make sure your CI gathering stays ethical and legal?

What they are checking: Whether they know the ethical and legal limits on gathering intelligence, since a misstep can create real legal and reputational damage for the company.

How do you support business development with competitive insights?

What they are checking: Whether they can give business development timely, decision-ready insights on deals, which requires speed and a clear sense of what matters most.
