understanding of how to translate contract terms into meaningful, customer-facing metrics
Have you used SAP or another ERP alongside Salesforce to manage contract or order data? What did that workflow look like day to day?
actual hands-on system fluency versus surface familiarity
How would you build a service level agreement and communication matrix for a subsidiary business that touches order management, demand planning, and distribution?
whether they understand how SLAs translate into actual cross-team accountability
Have you supported project-based customers before? What made their contract needs different from standard recurring accounts?
experience with the specific customer type this role handles, not generic order management
When you're reviewing revenue recognition or forecasting with finance, what kind of contract detail tends to trip people up?
depth of understanding on how contract terms connect to financial reporting, not just administrative filing
Situational
Say a distributor support rep and a sales leader disagree about what a contract obligates us to do. How would you sort that out?
ability to act as a neutral SME between competing internal interests
If sales, credit, and finance all needed different information out of the same contract folder, how would you organize it so each group finds what they need without asking you directly?
practical systems thinking for cross-functional access
A contract is up for renewal and legal wants changes that sales says will upset the customer relationship. How do you handle being in the middle of that?
