What they are checking: Whether they understand how this internship connects to the full-time analyst program, and have thought about whether that path suits them.

About the work

What do you know about how a bank decides whether to lend to a business?

What they are checking: Whether they approach unfamiliar financial statements methodically, which shows they can build the habits credit analysis depends on.

You'd support portfolio monitoring and assess industry trends. How would you research an industry you know nothing about?

What they are checking: Whether they have a practical approach to researching unfamiliar industries, since credit analysts often need to understand new sectors quickly.
