About your past

Tell me about an enterprise data governance program you built or rebuilt. What made people actually follow it?

What they are checking: Whether they know governance succeeds through ownership and trust, not through policies nobody reads.

Tell me about a digital transformation project that went off track. What did you do?

What they are checking: Whether they own failures honestly and know how to rescue scope, budget and trust.

What project management practices would you put in place across technology work here, and how would you get people to use them?

What they are checking: Whether they can bring discipline to a campus without burying small teams in process.

Tell me about a time you used data to change a senior leader's mind.

What they are checking: Whether they can turn analysis into a persuasive story that moves decisions, not just a report.

What would you do

As a member of the Chancellor's Cabinet, how would you tie technology and data strategy to enrollment and student success goals at UW-Green Bay?

What they are checking: Whether they think like an executive who serves the mission, not a technologist chasing tools.

Two deans give you conflicting enrollment numbers for the same program. How do you resolve it?

What they are checking: Whether they can establish one trusted definition of data and handle the politics of being the arbiter.

How would you bring institutional research and IT, which often work separately, into one strategy?

What they are checking: Whether they can unify teams with different cultures under one leader without losing either group's strengths.

In your first ninety days, what would you want to learn before setting a technology direction?

What they are checking: Whether they listen and study the institution before imposing a plan from their last job.

About the work

How do you decide which emerging technologies, including AI, a regional university should adopt now and which it should wait on?

What they are checking: Whether they can weigh cost, risk and readiness on a limited budget instead of following hype.

How do you balance cybersecurity investment against other technology needs when the budget is tight?

What they are checking: Whether they can explain risk in terms a cabinet will fund without overselling fear.

How do you make data accessible to faculty and staff while protecting student privacy under FERPA?

What they are checking: Whether they can open data up for decisions and still guard what the law and students expect protected.
