Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you noticed something was off with a patient and told the nurse. What happened?

What they are checking: Whether they report changes promptly, since CNAs are often the first to see a patient getting worse.

Tell me about a time an RN gave you an instruction you thought was wrong or unsafe. How did you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they can raise a concern respectfully and clearly instead of staying silent or arguing.

Registry work means your schedule can change. How do you stay reliable when you are picking up shifts across different units?

What they are checking: Whether the hospital can count on them to show up for the shifts they accept, which is the core of registry work.

What would you do

As a registry CNA you may float to a unit you have never worked on. How do you get up to speed in the first hour?

What they are checking: Whether they ask the right questions quickly and find the RN rather than guessing at unit routines.

A patient is confused and keeps trying to get out of bed while you have three other call lights going. What do you do?

What they are checking: Recognizing fall risk as the top priority and getting help rather than leaving a confused patient alone.

A family member asks you for an update on their mother's test results. How do you respond?

What they are checking: Knowing the limits of the CNA role and protecting patient privacy while still being kind and helpful.

About the work

You take a set of vitals and the blood pressure is much lower than the last reading. What do you do?

What they are checking: Rechecking correctly and escalating to the RN right away instead of just charting the number and moving on.

How do you help a patient with a bath or toileting while keeping their dignity and privacy?

What they are checking: Whether they treat personal care as respectful care, which shapes how patients feel about the whole hospital stay.

The posting mentions SAFE error prevention habits. What does a safe, clean environment of care look like when you leave a patient's room?

What they are checking: Whether they routinely check bed height, call light, alarms and clutter, which prevents falls and injuries.

How do you make sure your charting is accurate and done on time during a busy shift?

What they are checking: Whether they document as they go, because late or guessed entries can affect care and legal records.
