Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about the most complex biomedical equipment repair you have done. What made it hard and how did you find the cause?

What they are checking: Whether they can handle progressively complex repairs on their own, which is the jump from level one to level two.

You are expected to guide newer techs on GE policy and hospital protocol. How do you teach someone without just doing the job for them?

What they are checking: Whether they can build skill in others, since this level is asked to lead and instruct junior technicians.

Tell me about a time a repair you did failed again soon after. What did you learn?

What they are checking: Whether they own repeat failures and dig for root cause instead of blaming the equipment or the user.

What would you do

How do you prioritize when you have a PM backlog, two open repair calls and a department asking for an environmental inspection?

What they are checking: Whether they sort work by patient impact and contract obligations instead of by whoever is loudest.

The customer contract says one thing and a department manager asks for work outside it. What do you do?

What they are checking: Whether they understand how to honor the GE and facility contract while keeping the relationship strong.

A nurse insists a monitor is broken but every test you run passes. How do you handle it?

What they are checking: Whether they listen for user or workflow problems and resolve the real complaint without dismissing the clinician.

How do you work with vendors who service some equipment in your hospital, and what do you do when their work falls short?

What they are checking: Whether they can hold outside vendors to standard while staying professional and following GE process.

About the work

Walk me through how you would diagnose a defibrillator that fails its energy output test.

What they are checking: Whether their technical depth covers life-support devices where a wrong call has serious consequences.

How do you set up proactive daily communication with a hospital so they hear from you before they have to chase you?

What they are checking: Whether they see customer updates as part of the job rather than something that happens only when asked.

How do you make sure your test equipment is calibrated and your documentation would hold up in a Joint Commission review?

What they are checking: Whether they understand that uncalibrated tools or weak records can invalidate every PM they perform.
