Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about a time you translated a dense product specification into an implementation plan a client could actually follow.

What they are checking: Whether they can bridge product strategy and client execution, which is the whole reason this team exists.

Tell me about a partner who was frustrated or unresponsive during an integration. How did you get them moving again?

What they are checking: Whether they can manage external relationships across cultures while keeping technical work on track.

Tell me about a time you had to learn a new payment technology quickly to support a client.

What they are checking: Whether they can absorb technical material fast, since payment standards and products keep changing.

What would you do

A processor asks you to approve a waiver on a failed test case so they can hit their launch date. How do you decide?

What they are checking: Whether they weigh real network risk against partner pressure and can say no with a clear reason.

You're running integrations with an issuer, a gateway and a processor in different LATAM countries, all slipping at once. How do you decide where your time goes?

What they are checking: Whether they can prioritize across many partners and protect the launches with the most risk or value.

How do you keep the Product Owners informed when you learn that clients in the region struggle with a part of the spec?

What they are checking: Whether they feed field knowledge back into the product so the same problem does not repeat with every partner.

About the work

Explain, in plain terms, how EMV, tokenization and 3DS each protect a transaction, and where they overlap.

What they are checking: Whether they understand the core payment products well enough to be the technical expert partners lean on.

Walk me through how you would guide an acquirer in Mexico through L3 terminal certification, from connectivity to final sign-off.

What they are checking: Whether they know the actual certification steps and can lead a partner through them rather than just track dates.

A partner's test cases keep failing during certification. How do you read the logs and figure out whether it's the terminal, the host or the spec?

What they are checking: Whether they can troubleshoot hands-on from logs and failures instead of passing every problem back to engineering.

Cuéntame cómo le explicarías a un emisor en Colombia los requisitos de tokenización para una billetera digital.

What they are checking: Whether they can carry a technical conversation in Spanish with a client, not just casual conversation.

What would you look at to confirm a newly certified acquirer is actually performing well after go-live?

What they are checking: Whether they think past certification to real acceptance results, since a passed test does not guarantee clean production.

Bilingual (Spanish) - Product Delivery Manager - International Markets (LATAM) - (Remote-Eligible) The Product Delivery team is a core client facing team of Capital One's Global Payment Network. While Product Owners develop technical specifications, our team serves as the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) directly bridging the gap between product strategy and client implementation. In this role, you will lead the technical enablement and end-to-end integration of core payment products—including EMV, Digital, Tokenization, and 3DS—for issuing and acquiring partners across the LATAM region. We are looking for a hands-on technical lead who does more than manage project timelines: you must understand the underlying technical specs, troubleshoot implementation bottlenecks, evaluate logs/failures, and guide external partners through full network certification. Core Responsibilities: • Technical Client Delivery & Architecture: Act as the primary technical SME to Issuers, Acquirers, Processors, and Gateways, translating complex network product specifications into actionable client implementation plans. • L3 Terminal Certification Support (Acquiring): • Guide partners through L3 terminal certification setup, connectivity, test case execution, and TSE configuration. • Evaluate test case failures, address technical queries, analyze/approve waivers, and review final documentation to approve Letters of Certification (LOC). • Serve as a SME for network test tools (card/host simulators). • Card Profile Validation Support (Issuing): • Consult with Issuers to select and build card profiles adhering to Network EMV specifications. • Troubleshoot CPV failures, validate pre-requisites, approve waivers, and sign off on final LOCs. • Technical Troubleshooting & Investigation: Conduct root-cause analysis on technical integration issues—digging into specs, transaction flows, and configuration files rather than acting purely as an administrative project manager. • Process Improvement & Strategy: Identify inefficiencies in existing implementation models to optimize client onboarding, improve metrics tracking, and support the commercialization of new payment capabilities. • Risk & Partner Management: Proactively manage technical risks, escalate customer-impacting issues, and maintain strong relationships with internal business teams and external service providers. Successful candidates will need to complete a Language Assessment Basic Qualifications: • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification • At least 4 years of experience with L3 Certification (Acquiring or Issuing), ISO 8583, EMV specifications, contactless NFC, 3D Secure (3DS) or Digital Tokenization • At least 5 years of experience in client-facing technical delivery or stakeholder management • At least 2 years of technical troubleshooting and investigation experience within payment network implementations • Fluent in Spanish and English Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or Business • Experience utilizing industry test tools and providers (FIME, UL, ArgoTechno) • Experience working directly with Payment Service Providers (PSPs), acquirer processors, or card issuers in the Latin American (LATAM) market Capital One is open to hiring a Remote Employee for this opportunity.
