Likely interview questions for this role

Written from this job description, not a generic list. Each one notes what the interviewer is really checking.

About your past

Tell me about your hands-on media data work at an agency. What did you actually build or fix?

What they are checking: Whether they have built or fixed media data pipelines themselves, because a domain owner who has only supervised will miss real problems.

Tell me about a time you had to push back on an agency partner about data quality or delivery. How did it go?

What they are checking: Whether they hold agencies to standards firmly while keeping the partnership productive, since this role depends on those partners daily.

Describe a time you explained a complex media data issue to marketers who didn't have a data background.

What they are checking: Whether they can explain data problems in business terms, because marketers act on what they understand, not on technical detail.

What would you do

With more than 70 brand plans a year, how would you keep data requirements consistent without slowing brands down?

What they are checking: Whether they can scale standards through templates and process, so dozens of brand plans stay consistent without slowing any brand down.

An agency reports campaign numbers that don't match what the publisher shows. How do you work out which is right?

What they are checking: Whether they reconcile conflicting numbers methodically and get to the true figure, since spending decisions rest on getting that right.

Media, APEX and BTS all touch this data. How would you set clear ways of working so nothing falls between teams?

What they are checking: Whether they can set clear roles and handoffs between overlapping teams, so data problems do not fall through the gaps between them.

A brand wants a new data integration that the current setup can't support. How do you decide whether it's feasible?

What they are checking: Whether they check feasibility honestly before committing, so brands are not promised data integrations that the current setup cannot deliver.

About the work

You'll be the single point of contact for paid media data across DTC and HCP. What does good governance of that data look like to you?

What they are checking: Whether they see data ownership as clear standards and accountability, since this role is the single answer for paid media data quality.

How does HCP media data differ from DTC media data, in how it's collected, matched and measured?

What they are checking: Understanding of HCP identity, NPI-level targeting and privacy constraints versus consumer data.

How do you think about privacy rules and signal loss when planning data activation for health audiences?

What they are checking: Awareness of health privacy limits and their effect on targeting and measurement.

What marketing technology have you worked with for media data, such as ad servers, clean rooms or tag management, and how did you use it?

What they are checking: Whether they have real hands-on experience with ad tech and martech tools, which this role must govern and troubleshoot every day.
